Ten years ago, I met this little mare, Erin Elegant Isle - Ellie.
What neither of us could have known at the time resulted in the Partnership of Dreams.
We rode, we swam, and she showed me what she knew from her years of training which was very different to mine. I was curious, and we worked out together how we could make it work. She was clearly the gifted one in this partnership & I became her riding student. But, of course, I could have chosen to think I knew it all & forced her into "my" way.

I shared my aspirations of leadership learning with her & I adapted my approach for EQiLead inc The Power Quotient accordingly - I listened with my whole being to her powerful messages.

She never once disappointed & I embraced all she had to offer of her kindness and intuition, whether in leadership workshops, carrying my grandchildren or giving others the ride of a lifetime.
I treasured her contribution, she was "mine" in my heart, but I did not "own" her. While she couldn't choose to leave, she could choose to check out - ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐จ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ช๐ฉ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐?
Ellie was, however, my responsibility - it was up to me to care for her, to ensure her safety and wellbeing & not "send her out to pasture" when her apparent usefulness was done. ๐พ๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ, ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก ๐๐ ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฅ๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ.
