During the grueling creation of my TEDx Talk I created a model - #ThePowerQuotient (#PQ)which has given me a great framework to deliver #EQiLead workshops collaborating with horses.

More than that, I now see how everything we do in life (which includes work) is totally based on Connection and Intention.

This week I had a team from Local Government play with their version of Power and what Connection and Intention looks and, importantly, feels like.

One of the young women, Sarah, could have been Bree in my TEDx Talk - she had made CONNECTION with her team member (one of my horses) but could not persuade her to walk with her UNTIL we harnessed INTENTION. She needed to recognise that she could both expect to be heard and responded to but first we needed to show Sarah what Powerful Sarah can look like.

Without prompting, the whole team joined Sarah in the arena and it felt like we might break into a Haka. There was a combination of Wonder Woman poses, acting techniques of discovering and embracing your Will and a fair dose of laughter.

The result? Belief by Sarah that it was appropriate to expect that the recalcitrant team member would listen to her and deliver what was being asked. Sarah was realising her potential as a leader, embraced her new found POWER, had the horse following her willingly and together they were a team.

This is one of the reasons I love this work
